Artist’s Statement: “Destiny of the Harmonies” (DTH) was the first string quartet I ever composed. While I have always loved classical music, and especially string instruments, my style of composition has always been cinematic. With DTH, I wanted to experiment with a classical orchestra set-up: a string quartet including two violins, a viola and cello, and create a cinematic-style piece. DTH was also my first piece ever to be played live, and was performed by a string ensemble in summer 2015. While I took music lessons throughout my childhood and participated in my school’s orchestra, I always found myself sidetracking from my classical music practice and writing my own pieces. Eventually, when I was 14, I decided to take composing lessons, particularly to score film. Since then, I have written music for various short films and have been named a youth finalist in the international Marvin Hamlisch Film Scoring Competition.
