Ocean Obliteration

Ocean Obliteration by Arielle Goldman - Photo by Elena Eisenstadt

A smile obliterates all oceans
Salty, sweet, doughty oceans
Slamming over and over
Against the thin walls we call our skin
Small drops pour over the surface
As carvings and castles fall apart
We try to force it back into place
Ludicrous
Have we forgotten the little control we have?
What makes one smile is what an ocean can bring
And a smile obliterates all oceans
