Artist’s Statement: I Spy combines disparate and colorful images to represent the modern imagination. This collage challenges the viewer to consider violence, history, and pop culture. You can’t escape the stare of the evil eyes, nor can you ignore the verdant frame representing nature’s persistence against humans making a mess of things. This piece was made using thread, watercolor, marker, film and magazine clippings, and the artist’s own poetry.
