Lyrics
:
Growing up in a bubble
Looking up at the stars
Friends in and out of trouble
Never knowing our love could go this far
The morning fog disappears
But the memories will stay
I’ll be with you year after year
In your arms I know that I’m okay
We’ve been raised by this community
Whose memories we’ll hold
Where friends become family
With them we’ll grow old
I can see it in your smile
And through the stories we’re told
I’ll be here for a while
Cause this forever love is gold
Hamakom hazeh habayit sheli
This place means everything to me
Hamakom hazeh habayit sheli
In the bubble I found my family
We’ve been raised by this community
Whose memories we’ll hold
Where friends become family
With them we’ll grow old
I can see it in your smile and through the stories we’ve told
I’ll be here for a while
Cause forever love is gold

Artist’s Statement: I wrote this song “Forever Love” about my camp (URJ Eisner Camp) during my last summer there. I wrote it during our color wars (I was one of the song leaders for the gold team), taught it to my team, and performed it for my camp. It is about the everlasting friendships I made over my past seven summers at camp. Camp became my second home, and my camp friends became my second family. My song lyrics include the Hebrew words “Ha makom hazeh habeit sheli.” which roughly translates to “This is my home.”
