I’m Fine by Veronica Halfen

Artist’s Statement: My art piece, “I’m Fine,” can be perceived in numerous ways. Everyone at some point of their lives has felt as though they have to appear fine when truly they are not. The left side of the face represents the superficial version of the lady, the one that is putting on an act and pretending to be fine. On the other hand, the right side of the face represents the way the lady is truly feeling, the emotions she’s trying to hide. The real message I’m trying to communicate is that it is okay not to be okay, and that asking for help is also okay. Hiding how you feel is not good for you, and it will only make you feel worse.
