Juliet is currently a high school senior in South Florida. Spreading information through writing has been her passion for as long as she can remember. She fell in love with the journalism world after writing for her school and local newspaper.

Justine Fisher

Justine Fisher is a senior at La Canada High School in La Canada, California. She is secretary of her speech and debate team, and enjoys volunteering to tutor little kids in reading. She also spends much of her free time reading the news, articles, and books.

Katie Krawcheck

Katie Krawcheck, from Charleston, SC, is a first-year Park Scholar at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC. Katie is majoring in Political Science and hopes to obtain minors in Law & Justice and Creative Writing. Katie has a passion for social and civil justice, previously channeling that enthusiasm into her work with local Charleston causes and organizations, such as SheStrong, a non-profit organization that seeks to empower young women. Moving forward, Katie would like to partake in other political initiatives in the Raleigh area, such as internships with local officials and ongoing campaigns. When she isn't engaging in or geeking out over political activism, Katie enjoys spending her time with her dog, Charlie; shopping; eating good food; spending time with friends; participating in musical theater; and traveling.

Kayla Liss is a 9th grader at the Charles E Smith Jewish Day School in Rockville, Maryland. She loves to dance and follow professional sports. Kayla is a featured speaker on a panel about school dress codes at Limmud NY 2019.

Kinneret Katz

Kinneret Katz is a former jGirls editor for the Fiction and Poetry Departments. Kinneret is from Los Angeles. She began writing in fifth grade and has since taken numerous classes on poetry, fiction, and nonfiction writing. She enjoys learning about cultures and religions around the world and debating a diverse range of topics with friends. In addition to her publications on jGirls, Kinneret has two other published pieces in different anthologies. Kinneret is currently spending a year in Israel, to be followed by the University of Rochester.

Kyra Lisse is a junior at Upper Dublin High School in Fort Washington, PA. When she is not swimming in school work, she is writing, reading, and watching reruns of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Lauren Alexander

Lauren Alexander is a sophomore at Tampa Preparatory School in Tampa, Florida. She loves singing and is a part of her school’s honors choir. She is also passionate about advocating for people with disabilities. In her free time, you can usually find Lauren reading or singing whatever Broadway song comes to mind.

Leah Bogatie is a senior at William Lyon Mackenzie Collegiate Institute in Toronto, Ontario. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, writing, acting, and singing.

Leah Fleischer is a freshman at Muhlenberg College from Silver Spring, Maryland. In her spare time, she enjoys writing, playing piano, watching YouTube, baking, and reading Russian literature.

Leah Jaffe is 17 years old, and a junior at Cambridge Central School in upstate New York. She enjoys participating in many forms of the performing arts, as well as reading, writing, gardening, and petting dogs.

Leslie Marsh

Leslie Marsh is a freshman at the University of Massachusetts Amherst studying psychology and special education. In high school, she was an active participant in both her temple youth group, NAWDTY, as well as her regional youth group, and she is always proud to express her identity—something she has been able to do through her involvement with Hillel on campus. Leslie loves singing, cooking, and crafting, and she hopes to someday become a special education teacher.

Lexie Fried is a junior in Buffalo, New York. She is a passionate advocate for various causes and aspires to work in government. In addition to her love for jGirls, she also enjoys public speaking and community organizing. She is also very involved in the leadership of NFTY, North American Federation of Temple Youth, and her days are filled with being surrounded by her Reform Jewish community.

jGirls Magazine accepts submissions on an ongoing basis from from self-identifying Jewish teenage girls ages 13-19. You can submit articles, essays, fiction, poetry, humor, photographs, music, videos, artwork and other creative materials.
