Hi! My name is Avah Montgomery, and I am a member of the class of 2025 at Shadow Mountain High School in Phoenix, Arizona. I am an aspiring professor with a tremendous interest in women's, gender, and sexuality studies, Yiddish, and Jewish culture. At school, I have the pleasure of participating in a specialized literary history program called the Digital Academy for Advanced Placement Scholars. Additionally, I am the president and lead editor of the Veterans Heritage Project, a publication that archives the stories of veterans across the country. My work, "Hello, Me" has been published in jGirls+ Magazine, and my work "Demanding Bodily Autonomy" was published in The Christian Science Monitor.I have a great passion for Judaism, especially Jewish culture and philanthropy. I sit on the Center for Jewish Philanthropy's board, and I am a proud member of the Shalom Hartman Institute's Teen Fellowship Program. In my free time, you can usually find me adventuring with my parents and our three dogs, wandering through local farmers markets, or reading at a local coffee shop. I am so honored to be a part of the amazing community here at jGirls+, and I cannot wait to get started!
