Spring 2024 Vocal Point Cohort Member
My name is Azucena Uribe (they/she), a member of the class of 2025 at Berkeley High School in the Bay Area. For as long as I can remember, I have loved to sing and dance, as well as to write poetry, spend time in nature, and listen to and play music- I am currently learning drums and guitar. I have been a part of Jewish Youth For Community Action and Jews Against Marginalization for over 2 years. I have also worked at Olamim, a non-profit organization for Latine and Jewish families, since freshman year. I have danced, and worked as a camp counselor, for over 2 years at Destiny Arts, including helping to choreograph dances. I have been a part of the African Diaspora dance and performing arts program at my school for over 2 years as well. I am committed to helping and healing this world in any way that I can, to move towards a future where all people are treated justly and live in harmony with the environment. I want to be able to express my passion for social and environmental justice, and to cultivate my skills in order to be a powerful voice in my community.
