Hey, I’m Emanuelle, a high school senior in Lexington, KY. I co-direct the Prichard Committee Student Voice Team, enlisting students as partners in improving schools, which was recently named a Civic Spring Project grantee for our Coping with COVID-19 Study. I’m an organizer with Future Coalition, supporting youth activists across the country, a collaborator on the Education Justice Collective’s Move School Forward Campaign, and the President of Lexington’s NFTY Chapter.
I am deeply appreciative that I was invited to speak on Questioning Apathy and Engaging the Apathetic, as a part of Transylvania University TEDx Women and have been honored with features in Teen Vogue, MTV News, ThinkProgress, and Scalawag, as well as having my work appear in The Learning Professional, Hadassah Magazine, eJewish Philanthropy, Women of Reform Judaism Blog, Reform Judaism Blog, jGirls+ Magazine, and The Herald Leader.
I enjoy cooking, hiking, exploring the intersections of art & activism, and conversations about everything from poetry to politics. I’m so excited for my third year as jGirls+ editor and department head, working alongside creatives I’m lucky to call friends.
