Hi, my name is Jade, and I am 17 years old. I was born in Manhattan, New York, but at the age of three, I moved to Melbourne Australia. I am in 11th grade at Mount Scopus Memorial College, the largest Jewish day school in the southern hemisphere. Some activities I participate in are debate, a program called Outreach which educates students at schools of other faiths about Judaism, a student-run Friday night minyan, and Friendship Circle. I have been to two Zionist camps and have gone on a five-week school trip to Israel and Prague (to visit the concentration camp, Theresienstadt as part of Holocaust education), which has allowed me to strengthen my connection to my religion as well as discover what Judaism means to me. I have been fortunate enough to travel extensively around the world to learn about different cultures and explore what each new city has to offer. Some of my favorite places are Scandinavia, Japan, the United States, and Italy. After witnessing Jewish life all over the globe, it has amazed me to see how diverse we all are despite having a common bond, which is my favorite aspect of Judaism.

I am so excited to join the jGirls+ team as a staff photographer and cannot wait to share with you my unique life and interests as an Australian, American, Modern-Orthodox Jew through my series of photographs.
